So....

I was on a date last night with my boyfriend when his buddy (who will be named Robert thenceforth) started texting him about one of my friends. My friend (whom I will dub....Jane) had a great realationship with another friend (he will be called John) a year or two ago and after a horrible and hurtfull breakup(on her end)they have been using eachother for random dates ever since.

This year however, John has been a complete tool. This is evident to just about everyone but Jane. He never hangs out with our group or her. Robert on the otherhand is being a total sweetheart to her...as friends. Jane and Robert weren't as close last year due to a random disagreement, but now they are together 24/7....this includes things like robert going to her house to bake cookies before a football game...and being the onyl one there.

So, back to the original story: Robert texts my bf asking for advice....should he ask Jane to homecoming? Or will both she and John get upset because they wanted to go with eachother. Robert, being a good friend to both Jane and John, askes John if there is anything between him and Jane. His response went somthing like i do't know "I'll let you know when I find out". Both my bf and I were startled at this....how did he not know!? If there is something -at least on John's part- he would have said yes, and an 'I'll let you know when I find out' sounds alot like he's trying to cover his @ss and use Jane.

By this point Robert knew that I was with my bf and asked me if I knew anything. Jane is famous for hiding everything...especially her love life, but I decided to pry a little. (I had asked her a few days before if there was something between her and robert and she said no, that he was just her best friend.)I text Jane asking her what was between her and John (she must think I'm a creeper now ). There's another thing Jane is famous for....not responding to texts.

This morning i came back upstairs to find that she had responded finally. Her answer shocked me. "Yeah. We're dating". I'm SOOO tepmted to tell her how her answer differed from Johns, but i can't bring myself to do it. In fact I can't believe that she's doing this to herself...any thoughts?
